Since its inception in 2010, Xiaomi has grown to become the number one smartphone manufacturer in China and the number three worldwide. Xiaomi commanded a share of 13.7% in the Chinese market, beating Apple during the fourth quarter, and sold 61 million smartphones in 2014. The company has now set an ambitious goal to sell 100 million smartphones in 2015. On April 8, Xiaomi set a Guinness World Record for selling the highest number of mobile phones online in a single day, when it sold 2.11 million handsets in 12 hours on its Mi.com website.

The Xiaomi Mi Note smartphone has been available in the market since late January and has garnered rave reviews. The device was sold out in just three minutes after it went on sale in January, though it is not available in most Western countries, including the U.S. Despite the Xiaomi Mi Note smartphone and Mi Note Pro phablet being announced together in January, the launch of the Mi Note Pro has been delayed without explanation. But Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has announced on the Chinese social media website Weibo that fans will be able to preorder the Mi Note Pro starting May 6.

The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip, along with 4GB of RAM memory and 64GB internal storage. The high-end phablet will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 4-megapixel front camera, and will run the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Xiaomi's MIUI 6 interface.

The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro will be available only in Xiaomi's home market of China, as well as in India, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines, and will reportedly sell for 3,299 yuan ($532).
