In terms of specs, the Xiaomi Mi 4c shares the same processor, a Snapdragon 808 chipset, with the more expensive LG G4. Unlike the G4, Xiaomi's smartphone is more affordable with its $200 price tag. In terms of price, it rivals the popular Asus Zenfone 2 and the 2015 Moto G smartphones.
The Xiaomi Mi 4c also comes with the new USB Type-C connector and features Edge Tap, which allows users to access several features without having to press any buttons.
With these in mind, it seems that the Mi 4c is an enticing choice for those looking for a new smartphone.
Unfortunately, the Xiaomi Mi 4c is only on sale in its home market, China, as of the moment. Plans for international release may come at a later date. Xiaomi has also announced that the Xiaomi Mi 4i, which was launched exclusively in India, will now be shipped internationally to Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Consumers who are lucky enough to get their hands on a Xiaomi Mi 4c will notice Xiaomi's newest packaging.
The company is foregoing its original light brown recycled box design and is now shipping its new handsets in a sleek bright orange box.
During the Sept. 22 Xiaomi event, the company also unveiled their new Mi Bluetooth speaker.
The portable speaker is housed in a full aluminum body, available in different vibrant colors, including pink, blue and gold. According to Xiaomi, the speaker is smaller than a pencil case.
The speaker is backed by a 1,500 mAh battery which delivers up to 8 hours of music playback. It also works as a music player, given that it has a microSD slot. Furthermore, it has a built-in microphone for hands-free support.
The Mi Bluetooth speaker is priced at about $30.
