Publisher 2K Sports upcoming game WWE 2k15 release date is set for October 28, 2014. The release date of the wrestling video game, was announced via Twitter.

2K Sports announced previously that the game would be held in abeyance for a Q1 2015 release for previous and current generation consoles. The reason behind the change of plans appears to have been something about "financial."

WWE usually strives during the first quarter because of the well-known events Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble. Wrestlemania 31 will take place on March 29, 2015. WWE 2K15 may benefit from its hype.

However, plans go back to 2014 to replace Wrestlemania with "My Career" when the player starts a career at the WWE development division, NXT. The character can then make his way up and ultimately gain championship belts.

WWE 2K15 has not announced its official roster yet, though leaks have hinted that John Cena, Summer Rae, Justin Gabriel as well as The Undertaker will be playable. Justin Gabriel's inclusion on the Xbox One and PS4 version has been speculated since April.

Last year, the roster was announced just before SummerSlam, which this year takes place August 14. So far, only the Xbox One and PS4 versions have been officially announced.

On next-generation consoles, the game is expected to bring many improvements to its visual and gameplay aspects.

Meanwhile, the Wrestling Observer said ex-WWE talent Kazma Sakamoto — who was the manager of Lord Tensai for a short period — attended the recent WWE NXT event in Orlando. Reports say he was just visiting NXT, and expressed an interest in TNA Impact Wrestling.
