Top Moto X Style tips to get the most out of flagship smartphone

(Motorola)Moto X Style

This year's flagship smartphone from Motorola is the Moto X Style, and it is sold in the United States as the Pure Edition as it runs Android without any skin and comes unlocked. Here are some of the tips and tricks that come in handy when using this device.

Using different color modes

A big change in the Moto X Style was a shift from AMOLED to a TFT LCD display. However, this has not resulted in significant drop in quality. In fact the 5.7-inch display comes with Quad HD resolution and is saturated with color. However, users can turn it off by navigating to Settings > Display settings> Color Mode and shifting from Vibrant mode to Normal which will automatically result in less saturated colors.

Turning on battery saving

Conserving battery life is a priority with all smartphone users and on the Moto X Style it is as simple as navigating to Settings > Battery, and then pressing the three vertical dots that are displayed at the top right hand portion of the screen. Then users can select the Battery Saver option and turn it on.

Customize key phrase for Moto Voice

Using Moto Voice allows users to employ their voice to control the device and now the feature can be locked with a key phrase. This key phrase once input by the user can be used to start the Moto Voice feature and ensures it does not get turned on by accident. To set it up, users just have to navigate to the Moto app > Voice > Manage Launch Phrase and then select the Change and Improve option. Then the user will be prompted to record the key phrase thrice after which it will be ready to use.

Gesture based Moto Actions

With the gesture based controls on board the Moto X Style, users can perform a number of actions to interact with the deice. Once the gesture control option has been turned on in the Moto App, users can wave their hand over the display of the smartphone to turn it on and they can also swing their hand in a chopping motion for the flash to activate.
