On Friday, an image from Super Smash Bros 4 3DS was released which did not focus on the game's characters, but rather on the gameplay details. It shows how gamers will be able to check on their own and other player's status on the Nintendo 3DS platform.

The series Director, Masahiro Sakurai, gave Super Smash Bros 4 followers a peek for the first time of the handheld's bottom screen, which displays the active in-game characters along with damage information.

The photo is described as the Nintendo 3DS's bottom-screen display, showing the player's name above the accumulated damage. If the player taps the screen, a fighter will appear, which is timely when the gamer wants to fight an opponent. Furthermore, the gamer can also highlight himself to track his location, an advantage of having his own screen.

E3 2014 is drawing closer, and many are waiting to hear more about Super Smash Bros 4 at the conference.

Recently, a Nintendo Direct video revealed some playable characters who are part of the roster, including newcomer Greninja as well as Pokemon X and Y. Characters for the upcoming Super Smash Bros 4 have been consistently revealed by Sakurai himself in the Nintendo Miiverse.

The gameplay details seem to address the 3DS-only aspects, so that characters will not lose track on the small screen, such as the feature of team battle color outline. As revealed last Monday, color hints are visible at the bottom to let player's know how close he is to fall off the stage.

This week also, the rocket belt came out which, when with two turbines at the rear, will help the gamer fly upward by jumping – a good Assist for weaker characters.

The Super Smash Bros 4 release date is expected to be this summer for the 3DS version, and winter for the Wii U version. More details about the SSB4 release date are expected at E3 2014 according to rumors
