The Sony Xperia Z3 might only be a small improvement from last year's flagship but it is still a premium and impressive smartphone, capable of taking on bigger phablets like the LG G Flex 2. Here is how the curved phablet compares to the metal and glass device from Sony.

Design

There is little similarly between both devices. The LG G Flex 2 is made of plastic and has a curve that runs from top to bottom and extends over its body and screen. Its back panel has a unique coating that can heal minor scratches within 15 seconds and comes in two color options, silver and red.

As for the Xperia Z3 , it has a solid metal frame with a slight gloss and its corners have a protective layer to safeguard the glass covering its front and back. However, when it comes to color options, the device from Sony offers more. Users can choose from black, white, copper and green.

Display

The G Flex 2 has a bigger curved P-OLED screen as it is a phablet. It measures 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 403 pixels per inch while the Xperia Z3 has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch.

Specs

In this category, these two devices are alike as each has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset along with an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU.

Memory

Each has a memory slot that allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. When it comes to RAM, each has 3 GB onboard.

Camera

There is a 20.7 megapixel camera on the Xperia Z3 while the G Flex 2 has a 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.

Price

The LG G Flex 2 costs $299 with a two-year contract while the Sony Xperia Z3 's price is expected to be announced soon as it will be made available to carriers in the United States shortly.
