The iPhone 6 Plus has a size advantage when compared to the smaller Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. However, in terms of style, specs and design, the S6 Edge seems to be a much better device. Here is how the iPhone 6 Plus compares to Samsung's newest dual curved screen device.

Design

The 6 Plus has an aluminum unibody and beautiful chamfered edges that are normally seen on Apple's devices but because it is not designed as a phablet, the device can be easily dropped, making it prone to scratches. The S6 Edge, on the other hand, has a metal frame and uses Gorilla Glass 4 on its back panel which reflects light beautifully. However, it is mainly the screen of the S6 Edge which captures the attention of smartphone users due to its dual curved edges that flow over the sides. The curved portion of the screen can be programmed to display the photos of five important contacts. It also displays alerts, notifications and a night clock.

Display

The display on the S6 Edge might be smaller than that of the 6 Plus, but it is way ahead in terms of quality. The S6 Edge comes with a super AMOLED screen that measuresg 5.1 inches. It has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 577 pixels per inch. The 6 Plus has an IPS LCD screen that measures 5.5 inches and a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with a density of 401 pixels per inch.

Specs

The hardware on the 6 Plus is inferior compared to its rival considering it was released last year. It is equipped with an Apple A8 chipset, a CPU with two cores clocked at 1.4 GHz and a PowerVR GX6450 GPU. As for the S6 Edge, it has an Exynos 7420 chipset, an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU.

Memory

Not much can be said when it comes to memory as both devices do not have memory slots. In terms of RAM, the S6 Edge is equipped with 3 GB of RAM while the 6 Plus has 1 GB of RAM.

Camera

The rear camera on the S6 Edge is 16 megapixels with optical image stabilization, which outperforms the 8 megapixels that the 6 Plus comes with.

Price

The 16 GB iPhone 6 Plus costs $299 with a two-year contract while the 32 GB Galaxy S6 Edge also costs $299 with a similar contract.
