One of the rising stars in multimedia streaming today is Roku, a device which is quite similar to the Apple TV and Google Chromecast. Basically, this device will allow users to stream their favorite Internet shows through their television sets. Luckily, a recent rumor has surfaced, which indicates when the possible release date of the next model of Roku, the Roku 4, would be.

Roku 3 has been dominating the market ever since it was released earlier this year and as Christian Today said in their report last week, the device even gained the upper hand over Apple's multimedia platform Apple TV.

As for the release date, according to Christian Today, there have been some circulating rumors suggesting that the Roku 4 multimedia streaming device is expected to be launched sometime this fall. However, since the Roku 3 had just been released in the market, a fall release date for the Roku 4 is a bit unlikely.

Regarding the newly added features in the next iteration of the Roku multimedia platform, Master Herald notes that the Roku 4 is expected to come equipped with more advanced features.

The next Roku device is said to come with 4K resolution support, as well as a much faster processing speed. It is also expected to receive more memory than the previous model. However, these rumors did not indicate any figures, which could have given hints at the processing speed and the memory capacity of the device.

Furthermore, Master Herald also states that the RAM of the Roku 4 is going to receive an upgrade. It will now come with 2 GB of RAM, as opposed to the 512 MB of the previous iteration.

Unfortunately, since these are just rumors, eager fans of the device are advised to take the news with a grain of salt for now and wait for the company's official unveiling of the device.
