'Persona 5' release date update: upcoming title mimics life in the big city

It's been five long years but Atlus' long awaited 'Persona 5' for the PlayStation is nearing completion. Just last month, Atlus released an almost 3-minute trailer at their official YouTube account showing off choice cinematics and brief glimpses of the gameplay and user interface.
The response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive and has only heightened anticipation for the release. The general consensus from the trailer praises the game's stylish aesthetic and sleek stealth based gameplay. It's far too early to tell still, but the early signs are encouraging for the game's future success.
Aside from the trailer, a feature article from Weekly Famitsu magazine as reported by Gematsu reveals key details regarding the game's setting. 'Persona 5' will be based primarily in Shibuya, and the atmosphere in the game will attempt to mimic life in the big city. For example, a cutscene in the aforementioned trailer showed a busy city intersection with people and cars and tall buildings converging around each other.
Persona series director Katsura Hashino also spoke about the game's development and described their philosophy behind the game. "If there's one thing that lies at the center of our themes in the game, it's the notion people have that there are things that they want to do with their lives but can't actually realize for one reason or another. One of the goals in making Persona 5, then, is to give those people an outlet to explore those thrills and experience that sense of freedom that the protagonists themselves have within the context of a game," he said, as reported in this article at Gaming Bolt.
Despite the content updates that have been released so far, no specific release date has been given for the game but is scheduled nonetheless to be released this year in Japan and North America.
