Open world Zelda for Wii U coming in 2015

(Photo: NINTENDO)Before the new open world of Zelda comes to Wii U, Nintendo made some updates in the console that included the addition of quick start menu.

The new world of Zelda will be open for exploration this 2015, according to the Eiji Aonuma during a Nintendo Direct presentation at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2014.

The game's title is still unknown, but will definitely feature vast expanse that will allow players to cut through boundaries.

As far as what you can do with such a vast field to explore, as soon as those boundaries are removed, it means you can enter any area from any direction, Aonuma said.

The problem solving part will come as soon as the player starts to think about the direction he wants to take, how to get there and what will he do once he arrives in his destination of choice.

This is a significant deviation from the Zelda series where players are required to tread a certain path and play scenarios in a pre-defined order.

The gameplay trailer previewed at E3 shows an intense and boisterous colorful setting where one can clearly see stunning details of grass wave in the breeze and the mountains up in the distance.

Wii U has quite struggled to get a stance in the industry two years after it was launched, but Nintendo is hoping that the 3DS-like console resurrection will work.

VP for sales and marketing, Scott Moffitt has high hopes as he said, "As I look at what we have coming this holiday, now with Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros, plus the innovation of Amiibo, I think we are right at that tipping point where we have a lot of great content that is about to be released for that platform that's going to tempt gamers into buying the system."

Nintendo's grip on the market weakened along with losses for the past three years amounting $1.3 billion.

The Japanese video gaming pioneer is still on the running and would not fold without a fight, capitalizing on nostalgia to keep the business alive.
