OnePlus 2 vs. iPhone 6 Plus: Budget OnePlus 2 packs in some great hardware
The OnePlus 2 is quickly turning out to be a strong competitor to major devices like the iPhone 6 Plus. Here is how the budget OnePlus 2 compares to Apple's device.
Design
When it comes to premium design, the iPhone 6 Plus has the very best as it has a full metal body and rounded edges. However, it does not have any variety and is just a bigger version of its smaller sibling. Also, its back is smooth which makes it harder for users to properly grip. As for colors, there are three options, space gray, gold and silver. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner — a useful feature also present on its competitor.
As for the OnePlus 2, it has a metal frame and it only comes in one color, black. Its back panel is made of plastic with a sandstone layer. However, there are a number of alternate back panels available which are crafted from rosewood, bamboo, black apricot and Kevlar.
Display
The displays on these devices are similar. Each comes with a 5.5 inch version with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch. The only difference is, the iPhone 6 Plus has an IPS LCD screen while the OnePlus 2 has an LTPS LCD version.
Specs
Since the iPhone 6 Plus was released last year, a number of newer devices have triumphed over it in terms of speed and the OnePlus 2 is one of them. The OnePlus 2 comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores and four Cortex-A57 cores and an Adreno 430 GPU. In the iPhone 6 Plus is an Apple A8 chipset, a Cyclone CPU with two cores clocked at 1.4 GHz and a PowerVR GX6450 GPU.
Memory
Both phones have no memory slots, so external storage cannot be added. As for RAM, the iPhone 6 Plus only has 1 GB while the OnePlus 2 either has 3 GB or 4 GB.
Camera
There is a better 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization on the OnePlus 2. The iPhone 6 Plus only has an 8 megapixel version, though it also has optical image stabilization.
Price
The OnePlus 2 clearly wins this category as it only costs $329, unlocked, while the iPhone 6 Plus costs $299 with a two-year contract.
