NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti vs GTX Titan X specs, features and news: 1080 Ti reported to have almost same specs as Titan X; graphics card said to be revealed at CES 2017

(GeForce)New GPU is expected to be revealed during CES 2017.

Hardcore gamers are no doubt interested in what NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1080 Ti has to offer, particularly when compared against the GTX Titan X. It seems they won't have long to wait as the graphics card will reportedly be unveiled at next year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

NVIDIA has yet to make any announcement, but several sectors are betting that the company will be rolling out the powerful GPU during the CES 2017 event which will be held in Las Vegas on January.

The lack of news has also led tech observers to come up with varying opinions as to the GTX 1080 Ti's specs and how it will hold up against the formidable GTX Titan X. Some have speculated that the 1080 Ti will be the more powerful of the two and vice versa, while others are claiming that the differences are going to be negligible.

There are reports stating that the GTX 1080 Ti will be utilizing the same GP 102 GPU technology found on the Titan X. The news that the former will be relatively cheaper than the latter has certainly piqued the interest of some gamers, although both cards are admittedly great for those who want to see 4K gaming in all its glory.

According to reports, it has been been said that the GTX 1080 Ti will have 3328 CUDA cores, 12 GB GDDR5X memory, 208 texture mapping units, a base clock speed of 1503 MHz, and a whopping 10 teraflops of computing horsepower.

However, it should be pointed out that the 1080 Ti won't carry the full GP 102 variant that the Titan X has. It will provide the same power, though, even if the 1080 Ti only has 56 Sms, while the Titan X has 60.

Perhaps the main difference between the two will be the price, as the GTX 1080 Ti will allegedly have a price tag of $630 to $1,200.

Of course, these are all speculations at the moment. Hopefully, CES 2017 will finally reveal the truth about the GTX 1080 Ti.
