Gran Turismo 7 PS4 not in 2014; New Aston Martin car hits Gran Turismo 6 on PS3

(Credit: Polyphony Digital)Launched in December of 2013, Gran Turismo 6 brings with it 1,200 types of car and 76 courses across 38 locations.

Polyphony Digital is working on Gran Turismo 7 (GT 7) for PS4, but it will not be released this year.

According to his interview with Eurogamer, CEO of Polyphony Digital and producer of Gran Turismo series, Kazunori Yamauchi said they are indeed working on the title but it will not be launched in the market this year.

It can be remembered last year, the executive was very positive that GT 7 will hit the video gaming scene in 2014.

Yamauchi also stressed that they will proceed directly to the development of the full game rather than working on a Prologue.

He also established that the standard car models that persevere from 2004's Gran Turismo 4 will most likely be featured in Gran Turismo 7.

"I doubt that we'll be throwing away the standard cars," said Yamauchi. "Each car has its own fans. So I think we'll hang on to the archive. In the meanwhile, some of those cars we may be able to make into Premium cars as they become available - but basically we're more focused on increasing the number of premium cars."

Yamauchi, who is currently participating in a Reddit AMA also hinted on the refurbishment of the visuals of the game as the franchise moves to the next generation class.

"In PS4, I'm going to try to make sure that there's a photo mode that can satisfy any connoisseur of photography and you can really look forward to that," he said. "Because as a photographer, I'm really not satisfied with what we have yet."

After Gran Turismo 6 failed to make a big impact, fans are very much looking forward to the next installment.

Meanwhile, Gran Turismo 6 for PS3 welcomed Aston Martin's DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo in their turf.

This car was made for GT only and will not hit production, but the car company had to build one to display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England.

No Gran Turismo this year, but PS4 is introducing two social-centric racing game: Driveclub (Evolution Studios) on October 7 and The Crew (Ubisoft) this fall.
