Following a one week break, NCIS returns for episode number twenty-two with an offering entitled "Troll". Directed by Dennis Smith and written by Scott Williams, the episode sees the return of Matt Jones as Special Agent Ned Dorneget in an all new adventure. Joining Jones is fellow returnee Jamie Bamber, who will reprise his role of Attorney Jake Malloy.

The official synopsis for the episode, as per this article at The Futon Critic, is as follows:

Special Agent Ned Dorneget from NCIS cyber operations assists the team when a Navy ensign who worked in the Office of Naval Intelligence is murdered. Also, the team discovers that Jake and Gibbs have become good friends, on NCIS, Tuesday, April 28 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. Matt Jones returns as NCIS Special Agent Ned Dorneget and Jamie Bamber returns as NSA Attorney Jake Malloy.

Beyond "Troll", NCIS looks to cap the season with the episodes "The Lost Boys" and "Neverland", the latter of which will serve as the season finale Matt Jones will return for the former episode and appears likely to return in the finale as well, given the seemingly inter-related final two episodes.

CBS has already released a small teaser for the finale, as this article on the official CBS website states, "Last season's finale sent Gibbs on a wave of emotions after he learned that his father had passed away. And after everything that has happened this season, including getting shot down over Russia, taking down Sergei Mishnev, and taking a ride back in time to see the younger versions of Ducky and DiNozzo, you won't want to miss what this season's finale has in store."

Following the finale, a home video release of season number twelve is once again expected sometime in August later this year. Previous home video releases of the show tended to fall in the late August period.

"Troll" airs April 28 next week at the show's regular timeslot of 8 PM Eastern Time on the CBS Network. NCIS is currently on its twelveth season and is set to complete its twenty-four episode run this coming May.
