Two of Motorola's top products for the year are primed for a release date in August, according to rumors.

Moto 360's official website highlights "coming summer 2014," while silence surrounds the new flagship smartphone Moto X 1, also known as Moto x2.

Since Moto 360 acts an accessory to the handset, it makes perfect sense that both will be launched at the same time.

An August release date also syncs with Motorola's normal rollout schedule.

When Moto 360 made an appearance along side with other smartwatches during the last Google I/O developers conference, the tech community acknowledged it is entering a new age.

Along with the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live, the audience at the conference was also handed a voucher for the Moto 360. However, although it made a cameo at Google's annual event, the exact release date was not mentioned.

The Android-based smartwatch is Motoroal and Google's answer to the rumored Apple iWatch, and will jumpstart the new Android Wear line.

Moto 360 will act as a "super notifier" and extension screen of the smartphone, and will ultimately be powered by voice inputs.

Speaking of screens, rumor has it the smartwatch will feature a custom-made OLED display that will consume 40 percent less power compared to LCDs.

Moto 360 looks fashionable and wearable, with customizable leather and metal straps.

Meanwhile, a lot of its momentum is riding on the launch of Moto X 1 or Moto X2, as 2014 is dubbed as the year of revolutionary smartphones.

So far this year, Samsung has introduced Samsung Galaxy S5, LG is soon releasing the LG G3 and Apple is expected to launch iPhone 6 in time for the holidays.

According to BGR, Motorola's next flagship smartphone, Moto X 1, will carry the following specs: 5.2-inch display with 1080p video, 12MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera, Quad-core 2.26 GHz with Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB of RAM and will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
