Fans of the crime drama 'Longmire' can rest easy knowing that the television series will continue following a brief cancellation period after it was dropped by the A&E cable network. The series was quickly picked up by the steaming service NetFlix and will continue to be developed by the Warner Bros' television department.

NetFlix has already indicated that last season' finale will transition directly into the first episode of the upcoming fourth season. Key revelations from the finale were Walt's discovery of the truth behind Miller Beck's murder and Branch's own discovery of his family's secrets. While those revelations added up to an exciting episode, the cliffhangers added even more intrigue heading into the new season. Viewers were left wondering as to whether Barlow actually killed his own son to protect his secret.

Production for the series is expected to start sometime in March this year, according to a report at Carter Matt. Executives and actors from the show continue to keep a tight lid and have so far declined from providing new details regarding the upcoming season.

'Longmire' is scheduled to return at an unspecified time later this year. It will run for 10 episodes which will all presumably be available for viewing at the release date, as per NetFlix's usual procedure. The show will be available to viewers from the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, based on the contract details between Warner and NetFlix. No word yet on whether the show will be available on NetFlix for viewers outside of the specified regions.

Meanwhile, fans who can't wait for the new season to start can instead look forward to the DVD release of the show on March 3 this year. Pre-orders for the product are now available at around $30, as per Amazon.
