LG G3 vs. Moto X Style: Motorola flagship beats its rival

Last year's flagship from LG has remained relevant till today as it has the hardware and design to take on newer devices including the Moto X Style. This is how these two flagships compare.

Design

There is little indication that the LG G3 is made of plastic because it comes with a metallic coating that hides it plastic build well. It is also sleek and well designed with rounded corners and slim bezels which give it a premium appearance. It comes in white, black, gold, violet, red and blue.

As for its competitor, the Moto X Style, it has a default front panel made of plastic in white and black, a metal frame and a back panel which is made of silicone that comes in a wide range of colors. Additionally, customers get the opportunity to customize the device on the Moto Maker website. There, they can choose from different colored frames, metal accents and back panels. The back panels on the device are many and they include versions crafted from different types of wood such as bamboo, walnut and cherry. There are also Saffiano leather back panels.

Display

On the LG G3, there is a 5.5 inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch. As for its competitor, it has a slightly bigger 5.7 inch capacitive screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 520 pixels per inch.

Specs

In this category, the hardware of the Moto X Style makes it faster than its competitor. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, coupled with a hexa-core CPU comprised of two Cortex-A57 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores and an Adreno 418 GPU. As for the LG G3, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, a Krait 400 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU.

Memory

When it comes to memory slots, each of these devices has a version that allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. As for RAM, the 16 GB model of the LG G3 has 2 GB and the 32 GB model has 3 GB while the Moto X Style comes with 3 GB.

Camera

The 13 megapixel camera on the LG G3 has optical image stabilization while the 21 megapixel camera on the Moto X Style does not.

Price

The unlock Moto X Style Pure Edition is priced at $399 while the LG G3 costs $99 with a two-year contract.
