LG G Flex 2 vs. LG G4 specs: where does the difference lie between these sibling devices?

The G Flex 2 might be a cool phone with a curved body but the G4 is no pushover as it too, aside from its remarkable features, boasts of its curved design. Here is how the two phones from LG compare.

Design

In terms of design, the G Flex 2 has a more pronounced curve running from top to bottom and has a coating on its back panel which can automatically heal minor scratches within 15 seconds. However, because its body and screen are curved, the phone's body is made of plastic. It also comes in two colors, silver and red. As for the G4, its body is also made of plastic due to the curved design, though it is much more subtle. For its back panel, a polycarbonate with a slight pattern is used, which comes in grey, gold and white, however, users who want more variety need not fret as the back panel can be replaced with leather versions that come in a wide range of colors.

Display

The display on the G Flex 2 is made of a curved P-OLED screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 403 pixels per inch. The G4, on the other hand, uses an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch. Both phones' displays are layered with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

Specs

The hardware on the G Flex 2 is better and thus is much faster than the G4. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU while the G4 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, a hexa-core CPU comprised of two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at1.82 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and an Adreno 418 GPU.

Memory

Both phones come with memory slots that allow for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. As for internal storage, the G Flex 2 either comes with 16 GB or 32 GB while the G4 has 32 GB. In terms of RAM, the G4 has 3 GB while the 16 GB G Flex 2 has 2 GB and its bigger 32 GB version has 3 GB.

Price

The LG G Flex 2 is priced at $299 with a two-year contract, while the LG G4 comes with a $199 price tag with a similar contract.
