IPhone 6 vs iPhone 6 Plus specs, price and size: Here's what you need to know
Following the lukewarm reception of iPhone 5S and candy-colored iPhone 5C last year, Apple, Inc. has bounced back, after presenting consumers with its best smartphone duo ever – the launch of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The specs of both iPhone 6 models are packed with 16 GB to 128 GB memory, and come in three colors: silver, gold and gray. Both sport 8 MP rear-facing camera, 1.2 MP front-facing camera and are powered by Dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone and Apple A8 chipset.
Perhaps the biggest differences can be seen in size and sizing-related specs.
The more hand-friendly iPhone 6 sports a 4.7-inch display with 750 x 1334 resolution and 326 pixels per inch (ppi). The unit weighs 129 grams and has a dimension of 138.1 mm x 67 mm x 6.9 mm.
The bigger sister, iPhone 6 Plus boasts a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 resolution and 401 pixels per inch. The unit weighs 172 grams and has a dimension of 158.1 mm x 77.8 mm x 7.1 mm.
When making the choice between the two, it primarly comes down to "what size best fit your needs." There is also a $100 price difference, more or less, with iPhone 6 Plus being more expensive than the smaller iPhone 6.
Those who are on-the-go and used to sliding their smartphone into their pockets for convenience might want to opt for the smaller iPhone 6. Folks who love watching videos and movies, reading books on a larger screen, iPhone 6 Plus is the better choice. But, additionally, those who already own an iPad or other tablet may find the iPhone 6 Plus a bit redundant.
