iPad Pro features make it a serious laptop/hybrid contender

(Apple)iPad Pro

There has been a lot of negative and positive talk about the iPad Pro since its unveiling last week, and people have wondered if it will indeed be able to replace a laptop or even a desktop. Well, the verdict is totally up to the users. Here are a few of its most interesting features.

Lightweight design

The iPad Pro, in spite of a having a 12.9-inch screen, is overall very light. It only weighs 713 grams (lighter than the Surface Pro 3), which makes it a good option for people who are always on the go.

4 GB RAM and A9X processor

One of the iPad Pro's most impressive features is the 4 GB of RAM on board and although it has not been officially confirmed by Apple, the device, with this amount of RAM, will definitely be able to allow users to multitask. It will allow them to operate two apps simultaneously in split screen mode and even allow the use of complex apps such as Creative Cloud from Adobe and Office apps from Microsoft. Also, the A9X processor allows for the easy editing of 4K video and photos in RAW format and improves graphics performance.

Battery Life

Apple stated that the device will have no problem lasting 10 hours on a single charge. This is definitely good news for people who want to use the iPad Pro for work and school.

Apple Pencil

The Apple Pencil is pressure sensitive and it helps overcome the absence of 3D Touch on the iPad Pro. Feature rich and extremely versatile, it can be used to create precise drawings, 3D models, illustrations and more. It can also be used for shading and the pressure sensing technology even allows users to draw thick and thin lines.

Touch ID

Just like the most recent tablets in the Apple lineup, the iPad Pro comes with Touch ID fingerprint recognition integrated into its home button.
