'Hyrule Warriors': Update from Nintendo Direct, latest trailer reveals new playable characters [WATCH]
A new trailer is out and it's revealing more than it should about Nintendo's 'Hyrule Warriors.'
Other than demonstrating the game's seamless gameplay and storyline, the new trailer also reveals new playable Zelda characters that have been added to the franchise. What they're capable of and their purpose within the Hyrule-Zelda universe is yet to be discovered.
The new Hyrule Warriors trailer shows new playable protagonists, Darunia, Sheik, and Princess Ruto from Zelda's Ocarina of Time and an entirely new character designed for the mash-up, Lana.
Meanwhile, Zant and Ghirahim, both large and powerful characters from the Zelda universe now join the games' unique band of evil bosses.
As a treat, Nintendo in collaboration with Koei Tecmo, makers of Hyrule Warriors, streamed a preview of the game over Nintendo's website on Monday, August 4th, at 8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. ET.
The Nintendo Direct event is set to answer all the biggest question surrounding the joint Hyrule-Zelda project, and is available for review if you follow the link.
Fans can also catch a glimpse of the new Hyrule-Zelda universe via Youtube, on Nintendo's official channel.
Joining two of their largest titles in one project is a first for both Nintendo and Koei Tecmo.
In a separate interview (Japanese) with Koei Tecmo, president Yoichi Erikawa said the video gaming giant is poised to sell more than a million copies of Hyrule Warriors worldwide:
"In addition to our Warriors series fan base, Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda is also a very popular series with a large fan base, and I think it will become a great new market," Erikawa noted.
Hyrule Warriors is set for release exclusively on Wii U this 19 September 2014 in the UK and select areas in Europe, while Canadian and US fans can grab their copy on the 26th of September.
