Halo Waypoint has earlier announced that Halo 5: Guardians will be launched in the fall of 2015, and the Microsoft Store has published a release date of December 31, 2015.

While there is no direct confirmation from the developers and publishers, Halo 5: Guardians will first release the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta on December 27, 2014.

It is a limited offer that expires on January 22, 2015.

The exclusive items and contents that players will be able to unlock in the Guardians beta program will be carried over to the final Hal 5: Guardians.

Bonnie Ross, General Manager of 343 Industries, responsible for the Halo franchise, posted confirmation of the release in May via the Xbox website.

"I'm happy to reveal that "Halo 5: Guardians," the next installment in the legendary saga of the Master Chief, will launch on Xbox One in fall of 2015. In the tradition of every "Halo" game since its debut in 2001, it is a massive and exciting project."

He added, "Halo 5: Guardians" is a bigger effort than "Halo 4." That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what's now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we've invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One's hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen."

Meanwhile, the creators of the game have put together a collection of the entire first four Halo games to honor the iconic journey and his journey via Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which is set for market intro on November 11, 2014 for $59.99.

The Master Chief Collection will feature 45 campaign missions and more than 100 multiplayer and Spartan ops maps where you and your friends can play together.

The Halo team will be heading down Southern California to participate in the annual San Diego Comic-Con International.

During this event, they will be debuting Halo: Nightfall and will provide more details about Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
