Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta is set for release date on December 29, 2014, according to the announcement made during Microsoft's Gamescom 2014 press briefing.

"Having a beta this early this early in development is crucial because it gives us as developers the opportunity to react to the feedback we get from fans and take it into account as we complete the multiplayer experience for Halo 5: Guardians," said Josh Holmes, Executive Producer on Halo 5: Guardians.

The Halo 5 gameplay trailer presented by Holmes showcased stunning visuals and details of the upcoming beta.

All throughout the beta program, players can provide feedback and comment via the new Halo Channel.

Halo Channel will be available on Xbox One and Windows Phone 8.1 devices on November 11, 2014.

This platform features live and timely content, social sharing and interactive experiences, rewards and enabling Windows Phone 8.1 devices to be used as a controller for the Xbox One console.

The entire Halo 5 beta run will be from December 29, 2014, until January 18, 2015.

The multiplayer beta bundle includes seven maps, three game types, 11 sandbox weapons, 7 armor sets and competitive 4-v-4 matches, which has always been the heart and soul of the Halo franchise.

It gives the old school arena shooter vibe that has players in a team controlling the map and getting everyone in the right position before attacking the opponents.

Both teams will also have "fair start," which means all players will have the same "loadout" time.

The Halo 5 beta will be a part of the 'Halo: Master Chief Collection,' which is going to be launched with Halo Channel on November 11, 2014.
