Samsung is hoping that by releasing the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and the Note 5, it will attract more users and become more dominant in the smartphone arena. However, another device, specifically the LG G4, is set to challenge the Samsung device. Here is how the rumored features and specs of the S6 Edge Plus compare to the LG G4.

Design

The G4 is this year's flagship device from LG, but unlike other premium phablets, it does not have any metal on its body and instead relies entirely on plastic. This could be due to the fact that the device has a "SlimArc" curve running from top to bottom which allows users to hold it easily. As for the back panel, the default version is made of polycarbonate which comes in gray, gold and ceramic white. But for users who prefer a different back panel, there are also versions made of leather that come in a wide range of natural colors.

As for the rumored Edge Plus, it is expected to be built like the smaller S6 Edge, therefore it will have a similar metal frame and Gorilla Glass 4 on its front and back. The fingerprint scanner is also expected to be incorporated into the home button of the device. As for its curved screen, one edge will be customizable and users can add five important apps and five contacts. They can even use it to view notifications and a night clock.

Display

The S6 Edge Plus is said to feature a 5.7-inch super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels and a density of 518 pixels per inch. As for the LG G4, it comes with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch.

Specs

The LG G4 does not have the latest Snapdragon chipset. It comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz along with an Adreno 418 GPU. As for the hardware in the S6 Edge Plus, all rumors point toward it having an Exynos 7420 chipset, an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU.

Memory

The flagship device from LG has a memory slot and it can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage while the S6 Edge Plus does not appear to have a slot. As for RAM, the upcoming S6 Edge Plus is expected to have 4 GB while the LG G4 has 3 GB.

Camera

As for their cameras, the LG G4 has a 16-megapixel version with optical image stabilization. The S6 Edge Plus is expected have a similar camera.
