Minecraft founder's $70 million mansion in pixel form soon out for download, game receives PS3 update
PlayStation 3 owners in North America rejoiced over the news that Title Update 19 for Minecraft is already available for the console on Christmas Day. However, PlayStation 4 gamers may have to wait a little longer as the patch for the PS4 edition will arrive in 2015.
"No news yet from Sony America on the PS4 update, but they have completed testing the PS3 & PSVita update, and those are out now :)" 4J Studios announced via Twitter on Dec. 25.
The update brings a number of features from Minecraft PC edition, including horses and donkeys.
It is also quite clear that the PS4 update will not go live anytime soon as employees of 4J Studios go on vacation.
"4J are taking a break now, but we'll be back after the New Year celebrations to fix the bugs being found in the update," the developers tweeted.
Meanwhile, Minecraft: Pocket Edition emerged as a winner last Christmas. It was hailed as the top-grossing iOS app in one of the biggest holidays of the year. The game bested Clash of Clans and Candy Crush Saga.
In September, Microsoft confirmed acquisition of Minecraft for a whopping sum of $2.5 billion. This is a big push to Microsoft's bid to strengthen their stance in the mobile realm, which is presently dominated by iOS and Android.
Months after the buyout, the genius behind the phenomenal game, Markus "Notch" Persson, reportedly toppled power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z for a Beverly Hills mansion. He paid $70 million in the process.
It was only a matter of time before someone recreated Notch's mansion in Minecraft. The digital incarnation was spot-on with every detail captured in blocky form. The pixelated version of Notch's new home will soon be available for download according to the creator.
