'Devious Maids' season 4 spoilers: showrunner teases future of Zoila, Genevieve, Rosie, and Evelyn

The last time everybody heard from "Devious Maids," the people behind it were wishing for another season run. Well, they got their wish. Last month, network Lifetime renewed it for season four with ten episodes, three episodes short of its usual run. Now fans are eagerly awaiting news on what to expect for the upcoming season.

With such a cliffhanger of a season ender for the third season, it would have been cruel to not have things picked up for a fourth one. Because then, fans will have to keep asking: What happens now that Peri (Mariana Klaveno) is back? What happened to Zoila Diaz's (Judy Reyes) the baby? Who did Genevieve Delatour (Susan Lucci) choose to save? And the greatest question of them all: Did Adrian Powell (Tom Irwin) really die from that explosion? If so, what happens now to his wife Evelyn?

Thankfully, those questions will no longer remain unanswered...at least when the show comes back for a new season, which will not be for a few months. Rest assured, the answers will be pretty interesting, considering Genevieve had never made a decision on her own throughout the entire run. On top of that, having to live with just either the baby or Zoila, knowing she caused one to be without the other, might lead to guilt that's just too much for her to handle.

As expected, too, Rosie Westmore's (Dania Ramirez) life is about to make a turn for the worst now that Peri is back. Is Peri returning because she's still in love with her husband? Or does she just want revenge? It's a safe bet to say it's the former, given her character.

Executive producer Sabrina Wind tells TV Line of Peri's comeback, "When she left, she was mad because she felt cuckolded; nobody leaves a star for a maid! I don't know exactly what Peri is thinking, but for me, this is her chance to get back at both of them."

Talking about Evelyn and Adrian's fate, Wind says it's going to be a "really great story." Even if Evelyn thought she wanted to separate from Adrian, his possible death will be "devastating," Wind says. And in the end, she will realise that the things she wants are as not as interesting post-Adrian.

Check out how Evelyn's (and everyone else's) life is going to turn out when "Devious Maids" returns next year.
