Black Friday 2014 deals: Tempting game bundles for Sony PS4, Microsoft Xbox One

Black Friday signals the dawn of the 2014 holiday shopping season in the United States, with consumers lining up for great deals in electronics and gaming. To elevate the excitement of fans, PS4 and Xbox One have released their own set of Black Friday deals.

"Ever since its launch one year ago, PlayStation 4 has been the number one console, and today I'm pleased to officially announce two Black Friday PS4 bundles featuring some of the biggest games of the year for gamers in the United States and Canada," wrote John Koller in a recent PlayStation blog post. Koller is the Vice President for Platforms Marketing of Sony Computer Entertainment America.

The first PS4 Black Friday deal is the Grand Theft Auto V PS4 Black Friday Bundle for $399.99. It consists of a 500GB PlayStation 4 console, a copy of GTA V and a digital voucher for the Last of Us Remastered.

The second bundle is a combination of LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and LittleBigPlanet 3 and a PS4 console for $399.99.

Meanwhile, Xbox announced their Black Friday 2014 deals before October ended, and started offering discounted items as early as Nov. 2

Xbox One Assassin's Creed Bundle retails for $349, while the Xbox One Assassin's Creed Bundle with Kinect carries a tag price of $449. The latter includes the following games: Assassin's Creed Unity, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Dance Central Spotlight.

Microsoft also extends Xbox One Special Edition Sunset Overdrive Bundle for $349, and Xbox One Limited Edition Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Bundle for $449.

"We want this to be an unforgettable holiday season for Xbox fans around the world," said Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox.

The Black Friday 2014 sale takes place nationwide in the United States on Friday, Nov. 28.
