According to recent rumors by Macworld, the expected Apple iPhone 6 release date is September 9, almost a year since Apple released iPhone 5s, and Apple's followers have been waiting for the announcement of its next flagship

The company's upcoming flagship smartphone, which if following tradition will likely be called iPhone 6, is currently one of the most talked-about devices in the tech world, with many speculating about how it should look like, and what specs and features it will offer.

With Apple's annual developer's event getting closer, many are anxiously waiting to hear news about the Apple iPhone 6 at the WWDC 2014 at which the company said will have exciting announcements. However, reports have not confirmed the iPhone 6 to be at the event.

Recently, speculations and rumors about iPhone 6 have been renewed when Apple extended its LiquidMetal/Sapphire glass patent or license agreement. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also said iPhone 6 will have a Near Field Communication (NFC) feature and Touch ID.

Apple usually adds a new member to its iPhone series every year. Hence, 2014 will undoubtedly see another iPhone, most likely named iPhone 6. iPhone 5s and 5c were announced on September 10 last year, and were subsequently released after 10 days.

Deutsche Telekom said the Apple iPhone 6 will come out on September 9 and will be on the market on September 19, according to a blog on Apfelpage.de. Some pundits suggested this year's iPhone may come earlier, during the WWDC 2014 event on June 2, which is also possible, considering the first four iPhone generations were released in the month of June.

According to Taiwan's Economic Daily News, Apple will launch a 4.7-inch flagship device in August and a 5.5-inch the following month. This rumor said to come from supply-chain sources, saying August will see a new iPhone.

When Apple advised its employees not to take day offs in September, many speculate something big will happen that month, such as the unveiling of the iPhone 5s successor.

Analyst Abhey Lamba from Mizuho Securities, hinted during the MWC 2014 in Barcelona, Apple's next generation phones will show up in July, which will help Apple on a significant distribution during the summer holidays.
