Xbox Live Games with Gold January 2016 sees subscribers gain access to four new games

(Xbox Wire)

For the first month of 2016, Microsoft is providing its Xbox Live Games with Gold subscribers free access to four new games – "Killer Instinct: Season One Ultra Edition" and "Zheros" for the Xbox One console; "Dirt:Showdown" and "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" for the Xbox 360 console.

Players with the Xbox One console will be able to download all four games due to the backwards compatibility feature.

"Killer Instinct: Season One Ultra Edition" is a combo-based fighting video game. Players will be able to gain access to eight "Season One" characters, eight additional costumes and 16 accessory packs. This special edition of the game also allows access to the classic arcade game "Killer Instant Classic," which was released back in 1994.

"Killer Instinct: Season One Ultra Edition" will be free for the whole month on January.

On the other hand, players will be able to download "Zheros" from Jan. 16 to Feb. 15. "Zheros" is an indie 3D fighting game set in a distant galaxy. Players guide Mike and Captain Dorian (Zheros Squad) as they try to fight and defeat the Dr. Vendetta.

"Dirt: Showdown" is an off-road racing video game. Players enter racing events using rally cars and trucks. After each race, players can win prize money, which can be spent buying cars or modifying existing cars.

"Dirt: Showdown" will be available for download from Jan. 1 to 15.

Players who cannot wait for the release of upcoming sequel "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" can download "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" for the meantime.

"Deus Ex: Human Revolution" follows the journey of Adam Jensen who awakens after an explosion and finds that his body parts have been replaced by cybernetic parts. The award-winning RPG game can be downloaded for free for the Xbox 360 from Jan. 16 to 31.

The Xbox Store is also hosting Countdown deals wherein Xbox Live Games with Gold subscribers will gain an additional 10 percent game discount.
