'Wentworth' season 5 rumors: Bea Smith really dead; series to usher in Liam Hemsworth as jail's warden?
Despite the rumors claiming that Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack) may still be alive and will still be part of "Wentworth" season 5, the latest reports say that the character is, without question, dead. While Cormack leaves the show, it is said that "Wentworth" season 5 is ushering in a new character to be played by one of Hollywood and Australia's hottest actors.
There is no denying that "Wentworth" season 5 is one of the most-anticipated series ever. After all, the Australian version of Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black" is not only one of the most popular in the Land Down Under but is also critically acclaimed proven by its recent bagging of the Best TV Series trophy from Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA).
Without question, though, one contributing factor to the popularity of the show is Cormack's Bea Smith character. Hence, when the character was killed off in its season 4 finale last year, it was understandable why fans of the series went berserk.
While there are several rumors saying that Bea Smith may still be alive and is just recuperating in a hospital after Joan "The Freak" Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) stabbed her in the series' previous season, the latest in the rumor mill says that the character's death is irreversible. While she may still appear in some scenes of "Wentworth" season 5, this doesn't follow that she is still alive as she will only be featured in flashback scenes.
Meanwhile, as "Wentworth" season 5 will be devoid of the presence of Bea Smith (her alive version, at least), rumors claim that the series will be ushering in Liam Hemsworth to add to the roster of its stars. Allegedly, Miley Cyrus' beau will breathe life to the character of a rough warden of the women's correctional facility. However, it is unclear if the actor's appearance on the show will be on a regular basis or just for a guest appearance.
Just like the claims that Bea Smith is really dead, Hemsworth appearance in "Wentworth" season 5 remains to be seen as well and can only be validated once the series begins airing its latest season over Australia's SoHo TV a few months from now.
