Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2016 release date, news: Show heads to Paris, airs Dec. 5
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show usually takes place in New York. However, this year, Victoria's Secret is taking its iconic runway show to Paris, France.
The big announcement was made through a YouTube video that Victoria's Secret released. The clip doesn't last very long — clocking in at only 40 seconds — but it does manage to amp up the hype on the upcoming fashion show. This will mark the first time the fashion show will be held in Paris at the Grand Palais.
Its official website also keeps a countdown until the big day. The fashion show is going to be filmed in the City of Lights on Nov. 30 and will air not long after. The Victoria's Secret site has also announced the lineup of Angels who will be strutting down the catwalk this year.
Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, Elsa Hosk, Jasmine Tookes, Josephine Skriver, Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell, and Taylor Hill will all walk the runway come Nov. 30.
As for fan favorites Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, Victoria's Secret has yet to announce their inclusion, but it is widely expected that they will take part in the show as well. Two Angels, Candice Swanepoel and Behati Prinsloo, just recently gave birth, so it remains to be seen if they will participate.
The Paris announcement came in rather late than usual and, according to TMZ, the decision was deliberate because of terrorism fears. Victoria's Secret and French security agencies are apparently working together in an effort to block a potential attack. The venue of the fashion show was revealed just recently because Victoria's Secret bosses worried that an early announcement may give terrorists enough time to scheme.
Casting calls for new models were opened on Oct. 24 in New York City. The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will air on Dec. 5 at 10/9c on CBS.
