'Tokyo Ghoul' season 3 release date rumors: Highly anticipated to arrive before 2016 ends

(Facebook/Tokyo Ghoul)According to rumors, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will arrive within the remaining months of 2016.

Despite the clamor of the fans and various speculations, there is still no certainty as to when "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will be released. However, the latest in the rumor mill is that the anime series may return earlier than expected because of the popularity of its manga counterpart.

According to sources, the manga version of "Tokyo Ghoul" is still one of the most popular titles in the market. Based on the data tabulated by Nielsen BookScan, the eighth volume of "Tokyo Ghoul" secured the seventh spot on the list of the top 20 most purchased comic books and manga last month.

In the absence of any confirmation, various rumors and speculations have surfaced as to when "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will be released. One of which is the one claiming that the highly anticipated anime series will not be aired earlier than the release of its live-action movie version, which is slated to arrive in theaters next year.

However, because of the undeniable popularity of the "Tokyo Ghoul" manga, it is now rumored that the third season of the anime may be released earlier. In fact, it is said that there is a possibility for the third season of the anime to arrive before the year ends.

Apart from the rumor saying that there is a possibility for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 to arrive within the remaining months of 2016, there are also various rumors and speculations as to what its plot may be. However, there is no denying that one of the most popular and persistent theories on how "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 may pan out is that Ken Kaneki will declare himself as the One-Eyed King after his battle with Arima, wherein the latter instructs Ken Kaneki to claim that he is the one who killed him so that he can be the leader of the ghouls before killing himself.

However, just like the rumor saying that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will arrive within the year, the rumor saying that Ken Kaneki will become the One-Eyed King when the anime series returns for its next season has to be taken with a grain of salt until confirmed.
