'Thor: Ragnarok' news, spoilers: Thor's new hairstyle not the biggest change to the series, director reveals

When Chris Hemsworth returns as the hammer-wielding god of Asgard, Thor, in Marvel's upcoming film "Thor: Ragnarok," viewers will see a number of changes to the well-loved heroes, film director Taika Waititi teased.

Speaking to The Guardian, the director shared that one of the notable changes to the titular character is his iconic blonde hair. Thor will ditch his gorgeous blonde locks for a clean-shaven look. This, however, is the less crazy alteration. According to Waititi, viewers should expect to see "crazier things happen to Thor."

Reports believe that Waititi, who is best known for making comedy-infused drama about humanity, has injected his own style of film milking to the upcoming "Thor" installment. Particularly, he said, that he added a splash of comedy into "Thor: Ragnarok" just as he did to the rest of his films. Based on the trailers alone, which look more like Taika-esque mockumentaries than the typical Marvel teasers, it seems like Waititi had a lot of control over the film.

Film critic Sarah Marrs even wrote, "Why am I excited for Thor: Ragnarok? Because Taika Waititi talked Marvel into overhauling an entire franchise, and they let him."

Hemsworth will be joined by Cate Blanchett in "Ragnarok." She will be portraying a villain named Hela.

As previously reported, Hela is a powerful entity who has been trapped in a box for millennia. After years of cultivating hate and anger inside that box, she somehow gets freed from her prison, and this time, she will do whatever she can to remain free.

When the titular character battles with Hela, he is overpowered, and she sends him to a planet called Sakaar. Eventually, Thor will have to team up with his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to defeat the her.

Aside from the aforementioned stars, "Ragnarok" will feature Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.

"Thor: Ragnarok" hits theaters on Nov. 3.
