The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt gameplay images, opening cinematic trailer at Golden Joystick Awards
Four months ahead of its official release date, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is generating buzz in the gaming community following its announcement of the worldwide premiere of the epic intro cinematic that will introduce the game's main character, Geralt of Rivia.
"On the 24th of October, 15:45 BST, tune in to the Golden Joystick Awards Ceremony and be among the first people on the planet to watch Geralt of Rivia following The Trail, in an epic intro foreshadowing the main storyline of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," The Witcher 3 developers revealed.
The opening cinematic teaser trailer entitled 'The Trail' will be available via the game's website after it shows at the Golden Joystick Awards. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is nominated for the award-giving event's "Most Wanted" category.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt features around 100 hours of gameplay for players to enjoy, according to developer CD Projekt Red.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt also offers a vast and limitless open world to explore.
"Sail through open seas, dive in search of long lost artifacts or gallop your mount into combat—the world of the Witcher beckons to be explored. Visit the luxurious and corrupt city of Novigrad, face the frigid cold of the wind-swept Skellige islands, and challenge the dark forces roaming the forlorn, war-ravaged No Man's Land," a parcel of the game's features description reads.
The game also welcomes the Foglet, a creature of mist.
Foglets can appear wherever thick fog arises: Swamplands, mountain passes or the shores of rivers and lakes. If no fog is forthcoming, they can create or summon it themselves. By manipulating fog they can separate travelers from each other, hide trails and deafen noise."
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will have its digital and retail release date on Feb. 24, 2015 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
