ABC has confirmed that Rosie O'Donnell will return as a panel and host for 'The View' Season 18.

For the past weeks, rumors have been circulating that Rosie O'Donnell will return as a host for The View for its next season, and the rumors have been confirmed last week. The show's official Twitter account sent out a post saying "It's official! ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as co-host of #TheView w/ moderator Whoopi Goldberg for season 18!"

The View recently took off regulars Jenny McCarty and Sherri Shepherd from its roster of hosts, and O'Donnell promises to fill the void left by the said hosts. For her return, O'Donnell is set co-host the show with Whoopi Goldberg. Goldberg replaced O'Donnell when she left The View in a bad state on April 2007, just eight months after signing up for the show.

With O'Donnell's return, comes the leaving of a producer, Bill Geddie. It is no secret how O'Donnell and Geddie aren't always on the same page, a production secret that went public after O'Donnell's public argument with Elisabeth Hasselbeck in the show while discussing the topic of the Iraq War. A source talked to the Daily Mail and revealed that the producer decided to leave because O'Donell is set to return on set.

"Everyone thinks the reason that Bill's going is because ABC wanted to bring Rosie back and they hate each other so much, there is no way they could work together," said the source in the said Daily Mail interview.
