The first game in "The Legend of Zelda" would be turning thirty next year and in those three decades the following for the videogame has only grown stronger. The last Wii game for the franchise was released in 2011 and to say that Nintendo console users are ready for a new game is nothing less than an understatement. Unfortunately for them, it seems like there would be a little bit more waiting before the newest title would be released.

Initially, the currently unnamed Zelda project was showcased during 2011's E3. Eventually Nintendo revealed two years after the showcase that they are indeed working on a new title for their most latest console, the Wii U.

Eiji Aonuma, director for the franchise, have since explained the reason surrounding the delay of the release. In a video posted on the game's official facebook account, Aonuma reveals that during the process of developing the game the developers have discovered several opportunities to make the game the best it can be. He detailed how the production team has since abandoned the 2015 deadline in order to focus on making sure these ideas come to life.

"I have watched our development progress, I have come to think that rather than work with meeting a specific schedule as our main objective and releasing a game that reflects only what we can create within that scheduled time, I feel strongly that our focus should be to bring all these ideas to life in a way that will make The Legend of Zelda for Wii U the best game it can possibly be. So I must apologize to you all that were expecting the game by year's end, but we no longer making a 2015 release our number one priority." revealed Aonuma.

Neither Nintendo nor Aonuma have revealed the specific date for the release. However the game is expected to be available by next year.
