'The Last of Us 2' release date, news: Game developer not rushing the sequel

Many gamers will be excited to know that there is a new installment of "The Last of Us" franchise in store for them.

After the success brought by "The Last Of Us," fans were anticipating a new title to continue the story. Fortunately, the developer of the game, Naughty Dog finally confirmed that sequel is currently in progress.

However, though there is a lot of excitement in store for the upcoming installment, the video game developer of "The Last Of Us," Neil Druckmann, explained that they are not rushing the development of the game.

Since it will be hard to follow the success of the original game, Druckmann and his team are hoping to present a bigger and more exciting installment of the title. Unfortunately, there has yet to be any details on what the sequel will present.

Even though fans quickly fell in love with the characters Ellie and Joel, there is still no news on who the protagonists will be in the upcoming game. If they will not return, many are hoping that the new characters will present an interesting perspective to the new installment.

Recent reports speculate that "The Last of Us 2" are could continue exploring the apocalypse. Rumors stated that the conditions presented in "The Last Of Us" could be worse than what was known in the first installment of the series. Meanwhile, there are also reports stating that the sequel could show another direction. Some believe that the installment will present a prequel of "The Last Of Us." This will bring to light the background of the world's sickness.
