After the successful launch of Naughty Dog and Sony's "Uncharted 4" game, the action-adventure survival video game "The Last of Us 2" also got renewed interest because of Ellie.

Surprisingly, the public's interest is not only focused on the upcoming gameplay of "The Last of Us 2" but also on one of its main characters, Ellie, who was revealed to be pregnant in "Uncharted 4."

According to reports, Naughty Dog might be planning on making the storyline for the upcoming installment of "The Last of Us" to focus on Ellie. In a "The Last of Us 2" poster captured by Movie Pilot, a pregnant woman is seen, which is presumed to be Ellie. Since the woman wears a mask, no one can tell if she is indeed Ellie. However, judging by her hair color, fashion style, and the dirt-smudged areas, it is most likely Ellie.

Some fans, however, doubt that Ellie is the woman on the poster because she is seen holding a weapon with her left hand even though she is right-handed. It was then pointed out that in the "The Last of Us Remastered" game, Ellie is indeed holding a weapon on her left hand. Since the weapon is the same as Joel's, it could also mean that the latter is passing the responsibility to Ellie.

After the emergence of the poster, other speculations sprouted that Joel will no longer be the lead in "The Last of Us 2." Although Naughty Dog has not denied nor confirmed it yet, an Ellie-centric story is also possible. There are also rumors that the game developer might even remove both Joel and Ellie and introduce new faces on the game's sequel. However, the pair has a lot of potential adventures that could develop the storyline more.

"The Last of Us 2" is expected to come out sometime in 2018.
