'The Incredibles 2' rumors: Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl to be grandparents

(Facebook/The Incredibles)Rumors claim that the Parr patriarch and matriarch will be grandparents in "The Incredibles 2."

While rumors claiming that "The Incredibles 2" will feature Jack-Jack as the main villain are rife, the latest buzz online is that the movie will feature Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl as grandparents to kids with superpowers, too.

According to the latest reports, some fans have formulated a theory claiming that "The Incredibles 2" will feature the Parrs patriarch and matriarch being grandparents as, after all, the upcoming movie sequel will have a time jump, showing the kids in the first "The Incredibles" as grown-ups now. As the Parr family is a family of superheroes, it goes without saying that the grandkids will have their respective superpowers, too.

While it's true that featuring Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl being grandparents is nothing short of exciting, it remains to be seen, though, whether it will really be the case as it is nothing but a fan theory.

On the other hand, while the rumors saying that "The Incredibles 2" will feature Jack-Jack as its main villain, there are those who believe otherwise. While there is a possibility for the youngest Parr child to grow up confused and overwhelmed with his superpowers, it is unlikely for him to be portrayed as the big bad for the upcoming movie. Instead, Jack-Jack will be surrounded by some people who will influence him to come up with wrong decisions with repercussions. Good thing for Jack-Jack, his older siblings, Violet and Dash, will be there to make him see reason and eventually revert to the good side, according to reports.

Brad Bird, writer/director of the upcoming Disney-Pixar animated movie sequel, has earlier said that "The Incredibles 2" will be unlike other superhero movies that have been released for the past couples of years. According to Bird, fans can expect that "The Incredibles 2" will not focus on the superpowers of the characters but, rather, will cast the spotlight more on the relationships of the Parr family with one another. Apparently, Bird's statement is in sync with the rumored plot of "The Incredibles 2," saying that Jack-Jack will be swayed to the bad side and will eventually return to being good with the help of his siblings and parents.

"The Incredibles 2" arrives in theaters on June 15, 2018.
