'The Flash' season 3 spoilers, news: New mystery speedster joins cast
After it was revealed that Keiynan Lonsdale's Wally West character on "The Flash" TV series will, indeed, become Central City's newest speedster to be known as Kid Flash, it turns out that he will not be the only additional character in the series to be endowed with the power of super speed. According to the latest reports, "The Vampire Diaries" and "Spartacus" actor Todd Lasance is also donning a speedster costume as he joins "The Flash" season 3.

There have been various tweets from different sources showing photos taken from the set of "The Flash" season 3. In the said photos, Lonsdale can be seen garbed in his Kid Flash costume, while another character, whose face is mostly hidden in his speedster mask, is walking alongside Lonsdale. Despite the identity of the actor being concealed, it is strongly believed that he is Lasance. At this point in time, though, it remains unclear as to who Lasance's speedster character is. Collider opines that the costume on the whole is close to what Zoom (Teddy Sears), the main antagonist in "The Flash" season 2, donned during his stint on the show. However, with the character getting killed in the last season, it is unlikely that the mystery speedster that can be seen in the uploaded Twitter photos is Zoom.

With this, it is now speculated that the new speedster to be introduced in "The Flash" season 3 is Daniel West, the third person to become the Reverse-Flash. The character debuted in the New 52 series of DC comics just a few years ago, wherein he is portrayed as a villain. In the comic book version of the character, Daniel attempts to go back to the past to kill his father, but Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin in the TV series) stops him. He eventually becomes a member of the Suicide Squad in his comic book incarnation.
Is Daniel West really the new speedster behind the mask? If he is, will it really be Lasance who will portray him?
Find out when "The Flash" returns to The CW for its third season run on Oct. 4.
