'The Elder Scrolls 6' release date rumors: remastered 'Skyrim' announcement at E3 2016? 'TES VI' not happening?

(Bethesda)Rumor has it that Bethesda will announce a Skyrim remaster at E3 2016

Fans are looking forward to Bethesda's presence at the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) next week, as they expect some details about the much anticipated game, "The Elder Scrolls VI."

It seems that Bethesda continues to keep fans in the dark when it comes to the sequel, but rumor has it that "The Elder Scrolls VI" is not in the cards for this year. Instead, a remastered version of "Skyrim" is expected to be announced at E3.

The rumors started when industry insider, Shinobi602 told H.A.M Radio Podcast that he expects Bethesda to announce a remastered title. While there wasn't a specific game title given away, it was easily speculated that Bethesda might introduce a remaster of "Skyrim." NeoGAF member Enter the Dragon Punch also confirmed in the forum that the piece of info is real and that the remastered version will have mod support, superior graphics and all the DLCs for "TES V."

Metro then found out that a U.K. retailer, base.com, has listed the game as "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – The Definitive Edition" which is reportedly scheduled to be released on Nov. 23. The listing came on the heels of the "Skyrim" remastered rumors and there wasn't a box art for this particular game listing so readers might want to take this piece of information with a grain of salt.

Without official announcements from Bethesda, it is hard to tell if the rumors are accurate. At the same time, the lack of confirmation from the developer led fans to believe that Bethesda will indeed go the remastered route. Furthermore, some are starting to lose hope that "The Elder Scrolls VI" or "Skyrim 2" will be launched at E3.

At this point, the fate of "The Elder Scrolls VI" remains uncertain, but fans will find out more once Bethesda makes an appearance at the press conference next week.
