'Tekken 7' PS4 version news: 'Street Fighter's' Akuma plays a vital role in game's story mode

(Facebook/Tekken)"Tekken 7" for PS4 will feature Rage Drives, Rage Art, and Power Punch.

"Tekken 7" PlayStation 4 version is, without question, something every "Tekken" fan should look forward to as the upcoming game will not only accommodate "Street Fighter's" Akuma but will also offer new moves that will make the game even more engaging.

Speaking at the already-concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), "Tekken 7" game director and producer Katsuhiro Harada made some juicy reveals about the game. While the news about the crossover of "Street Fighter's" Akuma to the "Tekken 7" game is not new, as it has already been announced previously, Harada revealed that his presence in the game will not only provide more action but will be a vital part of the game's story mode, too.

"Akuma plays a vital role in the story mode — he's entered a deal with Kazumi to rid the world of her hateful spouse and son, Kazuya and Heihachi, and by the end of the game the Mishima family's tale will be over," elaborated Harada on a PlayStation Blog post.

It has also been learned that "Tekken 7" will feature the return of the super-powered Rage mode attacks. However, this time, the attacks have been classified into two: Rage Drives and Rage Art.

With Rage Drives, a player can increase the damage he wishes to inflict to his opponent as it can also be used in a combo. Apart from some Rage Drives becoming more defensive than the others, they are also difficult to guess, according to Harada, as their ranges vary.

On the other hand, Rage Art is what a player needs if he wishes to pin his opponent on his back. It can also be used to deliver a fatal blow to an opponent if his health is low enough to permit it.

"Tekken 7" is also delivering a new feature called Power Crush, which allows a player to inflict damage to his opponents even if he himself is damaged.

Skilled players can use this to their advantage, but it won't go so well for them if they try against low attacks of throws, so you can't just power your way through each time," explained Harada.

"Tekken 7" for PlayStation 4 is expected to arrive in early 2017 and will also be available for the Xbox One platform.
