'Teen Wolf' season 6 news and spoilers: Official trailer released; Stiles-centric clip hints void left behind in Lydia and Scott's life
"Teen Wolf" recently held its final New York Comic-Con (NYCC) panel and gave fans one final surprise — the first 8 minutes of the upcoming season.
The "Teen Wolf" panel at the just concluded NYCC was a bittersweet affair. Aside from it being the final panel for the series, the revelations teased a dark and heartbreaking season. The audience were also treated to the first 8 minutes of season 6's premiere. The sneak peek gave viewers a glimpse of the Ghost Riders and Scott (Tyler Posey) and Stiles' (Dylan O'Brien) new hobby — that of being crime stoppers.
Posey explained to the audience that Scott and Stiles will embark on a Batman and Robin-esque period as they try to prevent crime in their hometown. It's safe to say that Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby) won't be happy with their shenanigans.
The two will find all the excitement they want soon enough when the Ghost Riders arrive in Beacon Hills. The final trailer that MTV unveiled certainly teases that and more. The clip starts with Lydia (Holland Roden) and Stiles in the car, with the Ghost Riders lurking nearby. He tells Lydia that she will start forgetting him and barely had time to ask her to find a way to remember him before he's pulled away by a Ghost Rider.
The succeeding scenes show the void that Stiles has left in Lydia and Scott's life. But they soon realize something's wrong as Lydia tells Scott that she came to school that morning certain that she was supposed to meet someone. Stiles' situation is given more light when a room full of people is shown and one man tells him that "we don't exist." It's safe to assume that they were all taken by the Ghost Riders, but Stiles still believes his friends will come for him.
There are a number of heartbreaking scenes in this trailer. There's the Sheriff demanding why Lydia is adamant that he remembers Stiles and she replies it's because "you love him." Another would be Stiles telling Lydia he loves her, right before he disappears.
If Stiles' confession isn't enough to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, showrunner Jeff Davis has also teased that the season will find "a number of people showing up." Fans can expect to see Ian Bohen return and, if all goes well, Tyler Hoechlin. Ominously, the producer also hinted that some characters might finally meet their end in the show's final season.
The sixth and final season of "Teen Wolf" will kick off on MTV on Nov. 15 at 9 p.m.
