While it remains unknown as to when the Surface Pro 5 will come out, the latest reports claim that the highly anticipated Microsoft device will offer three variants based on the processor that the device will pack.

There is no denying that the Surface Pro 5 is one of the highly anticipated devices for 2017. After all, with the Surface Pro 4 landing in the good graces of the techies, it is but natural for many people to expect that the laptop-tablet hybrid's upcoming version will be even more impressive.

However, according to the latest reports, the Surface Pro 5 will be offered in three variants this time, based on the processor that it packs. Allegedly, those looking forward to owning the upcoming device will be given the option to go for Core M (dual core), Core i5 (dual-core with two threads), and Core i7 (quad-core with eight threads).

Apart from possibly coming in three variants depending on its processor, rumors also claim that the Surface Pro 5 will boast of a 12.5-inch screen with 4K resolution that will be capable of supporting 3D support at 60 fps. Because of this, the Surface Pro 5 is expected to drop its Super AMOLED screen and employ an IPS touch instead.

In terms of storage capacity, the Surface Pro 5 is rumored to support, at least, 512 GB SSD and is said to be capable of supporting as much as 1 TB storage SSD.

Among the many rumors attached to the Surface Pro 5, though, one that has persisted for almost a year already is the one saying that it will come with an upgraded Surface Pen. While it's true that the current version of the device already comes with the said stylus pen, rumors claim that the one Surface Pro 5 will offer is capable of recharging itself when it is magnetically docked to the device.

As of this writing, there are conflicting unconfirmed reports as to when the Surface Pro 5 will arrive. While there are those saying it will arrive in March, there are those who say it will debut in April. Whatever the truth is, one thing is for sure: All the rumors said about the Surface Pro 5 can only be confirmed once Microsoft has already released the device.
