The release of Super Smash Bros 4 is not until fall, but the new characters are making the waiting game more thrilling for fans.

Nintendo allotted good minutes to demo this new game during the last E3 event, where audience witnessed Nintendo President Satoru Iwata battle Nintendo of America CEO reggie Fils-Amie in a Super Smash Bros. game.

Super Smash Bros is expected to hit the market in October, but the excitement of gaming enthusiasts cannot be contained especially with the frequent updates that Director Masahiro Sakurai has been dropping.

In their official website, Super Smash brotherhood welcomed three newcomers: Pac-man, Palutena and Mii Fighters.

Mii Fighters is set to bring a different flavor to Nintendo's highest selling franchise with its three different individual fighting styles: brawler, swordfighter or gunner.

A player can customize a character using twelve different attacks and three kinds of equipment for offense, defense and speed enhancing.

On the other hand, Lady Palutena, the goddess from the Kid Icarus franchise is seen in the gameplay video using her large staff to pound foes.

Gaming enthusiasts are now dying to see what comes out when you pit four of history's most iconic video game characters against each other – Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man and the newest kid on the block, Pac-man.

In addition, Nintendo also launched amiibos, NFC figures that look like the popular Nintendo characters that hold "character data" that can be unlocked by Wii U GamePad's NFC scanner.

Everytime a player battles or teams up with an AI-controlled amiibo in Super Smash Bros., it reaches a level higher.

It is evident that Nintendo is setting the path clear for Super Smash Bros' take off later this year when they unveiled the new Wii U adapter that will let players still use the old Gamecube controllers to play the new Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros 4 for Nintendo 3DS is set for release on October 3rd, while the Wii U version is still undisclosed.
