'Suits' season 5 news: Executive producer dishes on the one who sold Mike Ross out
"Suits" rounded up the first part of its fifth season merely a day ago and already, longtime fans of the series are clamoring for any information on when and what the return of the program would entail.
Given the massive question that the finale left, the excitement for season five part two's premiere really comes as no surprise. While "Suits" viewers have to wait until next year to find out what happened to Mike Ross and Harvey Specter, Aaron Korsh, executive producer of the show, has hinted on details surrounding the rest of season five.
"Suits," which first debuted more than four years ago in 2011, is a legal drama television program broadcasted on the USA Network. It follows Mike Ross, an aimless college dropout, as he is hired by Harvey Specter, an associate lawyer for the fictional law firm, Pearson- Hardman, because of his impressive intelligence and eidetic memory despite the lack of a law degree.
Season five's mid-season finale episode, which aired last Aug. 26, 2015, saw Mike Ross' secret finally catching up to him. In the episode, Mike has decided to leave his lie of a law career behind in order to pursue a life with Rachel. Unfortunately, his valiant choice proves too little too late as he is subsequently arrested for fraud in the same episode.
Because of the wild turn of events, fans are asking only one question – Who turned Mike in?
In a recent post-mortem interview with Korsh by TV Guide, the writer-producer spoke about who the traitor might be. He said:
"The writers came up with a different answer than I did. I had a philosophy that I won't 100 percent get into now because I don't want to give it away. It could've been someone we know knew. They could've had the "this is the right thing to do" approach... or took the vindictive approach. If it were Hardman, that would obviously be vindictive. If it were Logan Sanders, that would be vindictive. If it were someone like Claire, it could be, "I know I said I wouldn't do this, but this is the right thing to do."
No announcement has been made regarding the return of "Suits," however, the show is expected to return early next year.
