Steam Summer Sale 2016 news: What to expect from the upcoming sales event
One of the biggest days of the year for PC gamers is just about here as Steam Summer Sale 2016 is about to get started.
PayPal UK revealed exactly when the sale would begin via a tweet sent out last week, and with the June 23 start date now confirmed, people can turn their attention to creating a list of games they want to get with the money they have currently available.
As always, the main attractions of the upcoming event are the discounted games and things are not expected to be any different this time around.
It's hard to tell exactly which games will be made available via the upcoming Steam Summer Sale, though people can count on plenty of them having their prices significantly discounted.
Gamers who have held off on purchasing newer titles that may have just been released this year may find those offered at discounted prices courtesy of the sale.
Games from years past will likely be offered as well, and the upcoming sale may even present people with a good opportunity to complete those game franchises that they may have not been able to piece together previously because they were short on cash.
Beyond the games, Valve may also attempt to promote other items during this coming discount bonanza.
As Digital Trends noted, Valve may take this opportunity to shine a light on some of their hardware offerings by making them available at discounted prices.
Valve will also likely have some other surprises in store for their many customers, so gamers will want to look out for those as well.
No end date for the sale has currently been announced, though as IGN noted, this event usually runs for more than a week, so gamers will have enough time to check the store and see if that game they have been eyeing for so long has had its price lowered.
More news about the Steam Summer Sale 2016 should be made available very soon.
