'Star Wars Rebels' season 3 spoilers, plot: Ahsoka Tano to become Gray Jedi?; new baddies coming in

(Facebook/starwarsrebels)"Star Wars Rebels" season 3 will premiere in the fall on Disney XD.

There has been some buzz surrounding the third season of the animated series "Star Wars Rebels," mostly due to the characters — both old and new — that will be featured. One particular character, Ahsoka Tano, has caught the attention of many for possibly being a Gray Jedi.

A Gray Jedi refers to someone who practices the use of the Force but does not conform to the Jedi Code or Order. This does not necessarily mean that a Gray Jedi is evil, though.

Ahsoka was previously featured on "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." The character did not leave that much of an impression, but come the third season of "Star Wars Rebels," it has been said that Ahsoka will be better than ever. It is likely that the character has matured and will contribute to the story in a much larger way. Although she completed her training as a Padawan, she realized that the Jedi Order had a down side as well and eventually left.

Another character that has been making waves is Grand Admiral Thrawn, a baddie who will make his debut in the episode titled "Steps into Shadow." Described as a worthy and challenging opponent, Thrawn will serve as the third season's villainous threat, according to reports. Many fans have long been awaiting Thrawn's introduction, which is why his presence was met with wide acceptance.

However, there is another character who may prove to be a threat in the new season. Apart from Darth Maul, it was previously reported that Bendu, a giant, may fall into the same category. Even though Bendu is described as being neither a Jedi nor a Sith, he is still trained in the art of the Force, which means there's still the possibility of him falling from the fence either way. Fans believe, though, that the character may eventually give in to the dark side.

"Star Wars Rebels" will premiere in the fall on Disney XD. In the meantime, fans can watch the trailer below.
