"Star Wars Rebels" fans, rejoice! The official website of the popular franchise recently revealed that season 3 sneak peeks of the highly awaited series will be shown at the upcoming "Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016." Additionally, the first two episodes will also be screened at the event.

According to the website, the special screening of the first two episodes of "Star Wars Rebels" season 3 will take place on Saturday, July 16 from 16:00 to 18:00. Ever since season 2 of the popular animated series concluded, fans have been waiting for the epic continuation of the story.

Darth Maul is a character who was first introduced in "Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace." The infamous Sith lord was defeated by Obi-Wan Kenobi in the film, but it seems as though that he wasn't killed after all. Darth Maul is set to wreak havoc once more in season 3 of "Star Wars Rebels."

It is widely rumored that Darth Maul will take on Darth Vader, his successor, and that the two Siths will battle it out. However, it has also been reported that the fight is not going to be a central plotline in the upcoming season.

Executive producer and co-creator Dave Filoni revealed to IGN that what's more important is the revelation that Darth Maul knows what has been taking place in the galaxy, despite being absent for a long time.

"That's another bit of wonderful story, which is: What has Maul been up to? How did Maul get on this desolate planet? And we obviously don't answer those questions at this time, but it is stuff we've considered when we wrote these stories," Filoni shared.

Additionally, the EP weighed in on the rumor that Maul and Vader might have a combat. "It never came to be that he would face off with Vader," he said. However, Filoni didn't entirely close the door on that possibility. "At least not yet," he continued.

So even though Maul and Vader won't have a face-off in the upcoming season, there is still a possibility of it happening in future installments.
