"Star Wars: Battlefront" developer, DICE, has clarified the match length for the "Supremacy" game mode, which could even lead into an endless battle between the Rebels and the Empire.

Last week, Electronic Arts, the publisher of the much awaited game, announced and revealed the details of one of the game modes in "Star Wars: Battlefront." One of those details is how long the match will last.

Recently, DICE publicly announced and finally shed some light into the confusion regarding the match's time duration. They said that the match doesn't necessarily have to be shorter, as what was suggested by the previous announcement.

"Clarification on the Supremacy blog: each time a control point is claimed, time is added," DICE lead multiplayer designer, Dennis Brännvall, said on his Twitter post last Aug. 13. "A close Supremacy match can go on forever."

Unfortunately, Brännvall didn't reveal any other details or even give an estimation on how long the match can last in "Star Wars: Battlefront Supremacy" game mode. However, he did drop a hint on what might happen to the time limit of the match. When asked by @BrownStefan1, "So if the winning team has 3 points, caps a 4th, does time extend also?" the lead multiplayer designer answered with a straight "yes."

With that in mind, when both teams are active with capturing the points, the match could actually take much longer than 10 minutes, as what Brännvall said. Another thing to consider here is that "Supremacy" is going to be very similar to how "Battlefield – Conquest" works.

According to a forum post last year on the "Battlefield" board, the match length varies and depending on various aspects, sometimes the game lasts for more than an hour.

However, that is just another speculation and who's to say DICE won't pull something new out of their sleeves.

"Star Wars: Battlefront" is set to be launched on Nov. 17 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, as well as on the Windows PC platform.
